The Deepwater Boat Ramp was built in 1985 through generous donations of our Charter Members. The boat ramp is free to use to anyone, but with the donation we are able to keep it maintained.
Each year the boat ramp Committee has a membership drive and sends out membership dues forms and bumper stickers asking for their $15 donation.Through these donations, the committee can keep the boat ramp up and running.
Also the committee is able to gravel the roads going to the cove just south of the boat ramp for people that do not have a boat, or they are disabled, can have access to the cove to enjoy fishing.
Anyone interested in becoming a member, please use the contact page and let us know.

The Deepwater Boat Ramp
P. 0. Box 162, Deepwater, Mo. 64740
Well, another year has passed and the boat ramp Committee hopes you had a great one. And a better one in 2008. There has been reports of the fish are hungry and waiting for you to get that hook and line in the water. Several blues have been caught. Last report was a 50 pound. Crappie are still in the deeper water but can be caught. It has been a more extreme winter then the last few winters, but finally it is about over. Now we can get those boats ready and go after those fish. See ya out there.
Since we have repaired the boat ramp, we have received several compliments that It has improved loading and unloading 100%. No more drop off . There has been several pontoons launched at the ramp with no problems.
The boat ramp Committee makes improvements to the ramp as we have the money. This is why your Donations are so important, so please donate your $15 so we can keep our ramp going for years to come and thank you for your past donations. We could not do it without you.
This year we have drawn up plans to construct a shelter house. We have submitted the plans to the Corps. Of Engineers and received an approval.
We have purchased a North Carolina shelter house and we are now constructing the shelter. We would like to thank everyone that has donated money, time and supplies for this project The shelter house will be 21 ft x 20 ft on a concrete pad with two BBQ grills at one end that Gerald and Darrell Wolfe of Deepwater built. Great Job! There will be picnic tables that were donated by the City Of Deepwater. The shelter will also be handicap accessible. Hopefully we will have the shelter finished for our annual cookout.
A few changes have come about this year on the committee. Two of our Directors has passed away.
Charles (Doc) Burton and Jerry Poindextor. They will be missed. These two people always kept watch over the boat ramp and done other needed chores. We would like to welcome aboard Mike Cummins of Deepwater, Mo. Charles Sherwood of Deepwater, Mo and Waylon Shanks of Clinton, Mo. as they are being appointed as Board of Directors on the boat ramp committee.
Don't forget to check out our web site www.deepwatermissouri.com . The site has gotten a new make over and has a lot info on it. It is worth your time to check it out. You can click on the Boat Ramp button to check out the info about the ramp.
Stop by at the boat ramp on April 26, 2008 and join us on some of Rick and RichardAngels famous hamburgers and hotdogs. We will start serving around 10:30 am. This is our annual appreciation cookout and all is free. Drinks included. You will enjoy meeting different people and be able to brag about your big catches.
Once again we thank you for all your support and donations.
Please be safe and wear those life jackets and have a great year.

MUCH BETTER
On June 27, 2006 Rick Angel our Boatramp President took his Backhoe to the boat ramp and moved several big rock on the north and south side of the boat ramp.
So loading and unloading will be much more safe. It is now much better to park your boat on the north and south side while you are retrieving or parking your vehicle Others that helped was Doc Burton, Ronnie Sap and our mayor Gerald Wolfe.

Truman Fishing
Truman Lake is nationally known for its excellent crappie and largemouth bass fishing. The 55,600 acre reservoir is fed by four major rivers and several smaller streams, creating a broad degree of diversity within the reservoir. Over 8,800 acres of timber were left standing in the lake to improve aquatic habitat. In addition to crappie and largemouth bass, the lake supports good populations of both blue and flathead catfish. Truman Lake has been popular with tournament fishermen for many years.
Full service marinas and campgrounds are conveniently located to provide access and accommodations. During the past few years, fish spawns have been good and fishing has been exciting. Please keep in mind that day use fees are required to launch boats at any Corps managed boat ramp.
Truman State Park offers two paved boat-launching ramps for access to Truman Lake year-round. A two-lane boat ramp located in the campground is for use by campers only, and a four-lane boat ramp is available to the public near the large parking lot, which offers ample space for cars, trucks and boat trailers. There are no launch fees or motor restrictions in the state park.
Bledsoe Ferry Park, located just downstream of Truman Dam, is one of the most popular bank fishing areas in the State of Missouri. The upper end of the Lake of the Ozarks extends to the back side of Truman Dam. In the spring of the year, fish from Lake of the Ozarks move upstream and congregate below the dam creating some great bank fishing.

Cooper Creek Off-Road Vehicle Area is located south of Clinton, Missouri near the town of Deepwater.
The area is designated for off road vehicle use including dirt bikes, all terrain vehicles, and dune buggies. Large vehicles such as pick-ups and jeeps are prohibited. Only motorized vehicles can utilize the park areas.
Cooper Creek is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is the only place on the Truman project that off road vehicles are allowed.
Cooper Creek Park covers approximately 300 acres of hills, trails, and open areas containing more intricate trails. Use of the area is free.
The riding area's boundaries are either fenced or signed. Riders outside the riding area boundaries are subject to receive citations.
Cooper Creek Area is managed for multiple uses. The City of Deepwater manages a boat ramp located between the north and south riding areas. The land surrounding the riding area is privately owned or is managed for wildlife.
It is unlawful to operate ORV's on a state right-of-way or Henry County roads. This includes all of the roads within the Cooper Creek Area and Highway 13.

ANY ONE THAT RIDES IN DEEPWATER CITY LIMITS MUST HAVE A FLAG RAISED ON OTV
The U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers have closed the north riding area of Cooper Creek ATV Area In exchange,
an additional 90 acres has been opened in the south riding
area.
Closure of the north riding area is necessary to help minimize traffic safety concerns and
to address environmental and cultural resource problems that are associated with riding in
unauthorized areas. Closing the north riding area eliminates the need for riding on public
roads and rights of way.
The Cooper Creek ATV Area is one of the few ATV and dirt bike areas of its kind in
western Missouri and eastern Kansas. The area contains approximately 400 acres that has
been designated for off road ATV and dirt bike use at the Harry S. Truman Project. The
closure of the north riding area is the first phase of the rehabilitation project associated
with this recreation area. Changes are currently being developed to insure Cooper Creek
Park is managed for recreational users to have a safe and enjoyable outdoor recreational
experience.
For further information concerning the Cooper Creek ATV Area, please contact Natural
Resource Management Specialist Rich Chiles at (660) 438-7317 ext.1224.
